Tabu is a reggae band from Silesia in southern Poland that has been active continuously since 2003. Over more than 20 years of their career, the band has played over 2,000 concerts in Poland and abroad, becoming one of the most recognizable reggae acts in the country. Their trademark sound combines melodic, rhythm-driven songs, the distinctive Bimber Brass horn section, and powerful live energy that has been drawing audiences to the stage for years.
The band is a two-time winner of the Golden Spinning Top Award (Zloty Baczek), the audience prize of the Przystanek Woodstock festival (now known as Pol'and'Rock Festival). Their performance on the festival's Main Stage in 2014 resulted in the release of a live album. Tabu has also received numerous festival awards, including winning the Ostroda Reggae Festival and the Reggae Band of the Year title awarded by Free Colours magazine.
Tabu has released six studio albums and one live album to date. Their most recent release, Lunapark, confirms the band's musical maturity and artistic consistency. Songs such as Jak dobrze Cie widziec, Kasia, Tyle mam, and Nie chce umierac have become classics of Polish reggae and remain an essential part of the band's live performances.
An important part of the band's activity is co-organizing one of the largest reggae festivals in Poland - Najcieplejsze Miejsce Na Ziemi in Wodzislaw Slaski. The 23rd edition of the festival will take place on July 18, 2026.
In 2025, Tabu completed the largest international tour in their history - the USA Summer Tour, featuring five concerts across four U.S. states, including Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia. The tour marked a milestone in the band's international journey and proved that the energy of Polish reggae easily crosses continental borders.
